Oslo, Norway
Hello Oslo!
The 7 hour train from Bergen to Oslo was spectacular! We saw Fjords, waterfalls, endless cows and horses, adorable houses, and beautiful bridges.
Right off the bat I loved Oslo because of the majestic tiger statue outside of the bus/train station.
Lena and I stayed for only two nights but we packed it full of fun!
We started by visiting the Vigelandparken sculpture garden and it was WAY bigger than we had expected! It had over 200!
It started with a long bridge lined with sculptures then lead us to a fountain and staircase to a massive monolith of bodies climbing over one another.
We loved that all of the gates were decorated with fine metal illustrations.
This is what the Monolith looked like up close- Crazy!!

Next we spent the rest of the day at the Munch Museum! It was so interesting and so far the most informational and intellectual museum layout that I've experienced.
The bottom floor taught us about the history of Edvard's life and family as well as the surrounding setting and diseases experienced during the time period he grew up in.
Each room on the floor above was curated to bring you through both experiencing and observing: disease, conception, love, life, and death.
This was one of my favorite paintings and in the recreation/drawing section of the museum I tried to recreate her face!
Lena and I then copied our friends we met in Bergen who had visited Oslo just before us.
Try to guess which scream recreation is mine!
This painting was breathtaking in person and its crucial that you view it last after experiencing the death, decay, and mental illness in the previous rooms of the Munch museum.
Overall the both of us loved the Munch museum and exited with an even deeper appreciation for the life we are able to live.

We then met up with Lena's family friend Emi! She taught us the history of Norwegian black and death metal, especially about the band Mayhem!
We then ate the best falafel at Jamal's Falafel and enjoyed the nightlife of Oslo!
The next day was full of exploring the city and its many outstanding vintage shops! I had many moments where I wish I was traveling with an empty suitcase and not traveling low budget with a backpack. I'll definitely be coming back to Oslo for the thrifting in my future!
We were on the search for a brunost and jam valfer! We got lucky and found a local stand just outside of a market and enjoyed our valfer together. YUM!
Goodbye Norway and Hello Sweden! :)
Lots of love,
Luca
